To support this, we are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Operative to join our team and help maintain our hotel's charm and functionality.
The Role:
As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel is well-maintained, safe, and in excellent condition. From routine repairs to emergency fixes, you will be an essential part of the team that keeps everything running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
Conduct general maintenance and repairs across the hotel
Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently
Be part of the Company's weekend call out and Saturday maintenance cover rota
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
Carry out regular mandatory compliance inspections, fire alarm checks, Legionella flushing etc.
Maintain and oversee the upkeep of the hotel's swimming pool, ensuring water quality, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations
Carry out painting, decorating, and minor carpentry work as required
Monitor and report any major repair needs or potential hazards
Liaise with external contractors when necessary
About You:
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable, and enjoys problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in a historic country house hotel setting
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and general handyman skills
A proactive and positive attitude with great attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
A commitment to health and safety standards and the ability to work with our compliance system.
